3M™ NOVEC™ 649 is a clear, colourless, low-odour fluid developed by 3M to replace ozone destructive substances (ODS) and solvents with high global warming potential (GWP) in many applications.

3M™ NOVEC™ 649 fluid is compatible with a wide range of materials and requires no special piping or handling systems, it is also stable in storage.

As an equivalent alternative, THERMASOLV™ IM2 is available.

Features:

Its high dielectric constant makes it safe for direct contact in most electronic and computer applications.

Its chemical and thermal stability, non-flammability and low toxicity make it useful for many other industrial and Heat Transfer applications, with a boiling point of 49ºC.

3M™ NOVEC™ 649 fluid must be used in a sealed system to avoid interaction with water; furthermore, fluoroketones such as this product, although reactive with water (i.e. a separate aqueous phase), are remarkably stable in its absence up to over 300°C.
