Re-Work

Re-Work is the process of repairing an electronic board and usually involves desoldering and re-soldering of electronic components.

Manufacturing process machining techniques are not applicable to the repair or replacement of a single device, and specialized manual techniques by experienced personnel using appropriate equipment are required to replace defective components.

Particular components such as BGA (ball grid array) in particular require appropriate skills and tools and products dedicated to the type of machining.

Re-Work is practiced for several reasons:

  • poor solder joints due to faulty assembly or thermal cycling
  • short circuits
  • defective components
  • changes to technical parts, upgrades, etc.
  • broken components due to natural wear, physical stress or excessive current.

Chem Solutions, with its many years of experience and cooperation with various partners, can recommend the right solution.
